The Monday afternoon “Coffee with a Cop” on Aug. 17 started like any other community outreach initiative, peaceful and quiet but that changed when a heavily caffeinated Chief James Post noticed an employee at the Gulf Station listening to music on their headphones. This is the Heritage Trail between Chester and Monroe. The trail is 19.5 miles long from Middletown to Harriman along what used to be the railroad tracks of the Graham Line, a freight bypass from Harriman to Otisville. The Graham Line closed in 1983.
