— The Orange County Activist Alliance is holding a peaceful march in Goshen from 10 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17, to raise awareness of the importance of voting.
"Use the power of voting to create an inclusive, sustainable, and empowered society," says the invitation.
The march kicks off at the Orange County Government Center, 255 Main St., Goshen, and will proceed to the village green and back.
The alliance in its "call to action" says an active electorate is needed to support universal health care, civil rights, climate change, immigration, hunger and poverty, reproductive rights, LGTBq rights, environmental protection, economic and social equality, transparency in government, drug policy, and election integrity.
The permit for the march requires that participants remain on the sidewalk.
Members include Indivisible Hudson Valley, Orange County Democratic Women Action Network, Dem Bones, Orange County Citizen Action Network (CAN), and Protect Orange County, among other groups.
