    William C. McGarry of Goshen died on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at home in Goshen. He was 91.

    Son of Malackey and Margaret (Burke) McGarry, he was born on Jan. 19, 1922, in Brooklyn.

    He served in the U.S. Navy, as a Naval Aviator, during World War II. He worked for the New York City Police Department and retired from the NYPD as Deputy Inspector.

    Survivors include his wife, Margaret McGarry, at home; sons, William McGarry, Michael McGarry, Patrick McGarry and Daniel McGarry; daughter, Mary Xenakis; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

    Visitation was scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen. A Mass of Christian Burial was set for Aug. 14 at 10 a.m. at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, 27 High St., Chester. Burial will follow in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen.
