Robert 'Bob' McDaniel

    Robert “Bob” McDaniel, a longtime resident of Montgomery, N.Y., died Nov. 19, 2017, at Johnston-Willis Hospital in Midlothian, Va, surrounded by his loving wife, Lillian (Lil); son, David McDaniel; and stepdaughter, Jennifer Wilding. Bob was 76 years old.
    He was born in Wilmington, Del. to the late Elmer and Rebecca McDaniel, and grew up in Montebello, Va. He was a man of faith in Jesus Christ who touched the lives of many people with his love, compassion, and generosity.
    Bob and Lil resided for many years in Montgomery and attended Goodwill Evangelical Church there. They moved to Midlothian in 2012, soon after Bob retired from a long and rewarding career with Weaver Gas, Newburgh, N.Y.
    Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Lil (nee: Wallace), who grew up in Chester, N.Y., and now resides in Midlothian; his children, David McDaniel and wife, Dianna, of Cherry Hill, N.J.; Melissa Lester and husband, James, of Galena, AK; and Sarah Austin and husband, Ryan, of St. Johnsville, N.Y.; stepdaughter, Jennifer Wilding of Huguenot, N.Y.; sister, Roberta Palmer and husband William of Mt. Solon, Va.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and other loving family and friends.
    He was predeceased by his son, Robert S. McDaniel.
