The Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Rock Tavern presents a solo exhibit by award-winning artist Mitchell Saler. On display are 25 of his realistic oil landscape paintings.

The exhibit will be on view until Oct. 31. A reception will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. where you can meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments.

Masks and social distancing are required in the building, which will be ventilated with outside air when open to the public.

His paintings encompass scenes of the local Hudson Valley area, the Catskills, the Finger Lakes region and more. In his landscapes, he enjoys conveying vastness, dramatic lighting and atmospheric effects.

“After the pandemic delayed this exhibit for so long, it is wonderful to finally be holding it at this beautiful location,” Saler said. “Thank you to the congregation and the Wallkill River School of Art in Montgomery for coordinating the show.”

The exhibit may be viewed by appointment on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. To make an appointment, email mitchellsaler@mitchellsaler.com. The Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Rock Tavern is at 9 Vance Road, Rock Tavern. You can also view the show online at mitchellsaler.com/uucrtsoloshow.
