‘Shame on you for participating in turning us against this great country’

    Dear Chronicle and Chronicle readers:

Please hear me ! Chester and Goshen are bedroom communities for NYC cops and firemen. They are our neighbors, our friends. They sit beside us in church. They are our little league coaches, Scout leaders, community volunteers, shop here, deliver MOW, help pay our taxes and, as retirees, sit beside us at our Senior Groups.

Their kids go to our schools, play on our school teams, participate in school plays, musicals and marching bands together.

They and we need to be proud, not embarrassed, because of their parent’s commitment to keep our world a safe place.

Four generations of our family have attended Chester UFSD and as the Parent Rep on the Handicap Committee at the Chester School for 10 years, I can tell you no child has been denied anything because of the color of their skin or where they came from.

All students receive the same education and opportunities in our district. They are our friends, not enemies.

How are we supporting them as they go to the NYC jungle every day? They need our prayers, support and thanks.

I am disappointed in your paper and the way it has become one-sided. Those grateful for the distance America has come in the past 400 years seem to be ignored.

I am 82, my degrees are in life-experience. Shame on you for participating in turning us against this great country by stirring the pot to a racism created by the Media.

    Very truly yours,

    Barbara Utter

    Chester
