Jen Metzger is a strong and effective leader in the State Senate

Jen Metzger served for over a decade in local government prior to her election to the Senate. In the Senate, Jen brings a much-needed perspective on the challenges faced by our rural communities, a commitment to improving the lives and opportunities of her constituents, and a track record of working with people of diverse perspectives to get things done.

Too many to completely summarize, the bills Jen has sponsored support New York farmers and our Ag community; advocate for rural resources and protecting open spaces; guarantee reproductive health protections; expand legal protections for domestic abuse victims; extend the statute of limitations for victims of childhood sexual abuse; keep our households healthy; preserve our environment; support veterans; make voting easier; ban corporate campaign contributions; support small businesses; and increase broad-band access. Jen delivers on her commitments, with a singular focus and bipartisan support.

Lowering burdensome property taxes is a top priority for Jen and she supported legislation making permanent the 2 percent property tax cap to control tax increases. While only a start, Jen believes more needs to be done and is working on legislation that would help relieve the local tax burden, while still fully funding our schools.

Working closely with Jen during 2018, I learned that she is sincere and unpretentious: a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, scholar and exemplary public servant. Please join me to reelect Jen Metzger to the NY State Senate.
