Dear Gladiator community:

With great enthusiasm and anticipation, I extend a warm welcome to the 2023-2024 school year.

As we anticipate the opening of school, we are working diligently to prepare a nurturing and stimulating environment for our students. The faculty and staff are committed to providing the best learning experience possible, and we eagerly await the return of our motivated and dedicated learners.

While summer is a time for fun and leisure, it is also a time for continued learning and personal development. I encourage our students to embrace opportunities for self-improvement and education. Reading books, attending workshops or pursuing a passion project are excellent ways to stay mentally active during the break.

As we gear up for the upcoming academic year, I want to remind everyone that classes will commence promptly at 7:27 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

Our daily schedule will consist of nine periods, with dismissal scheduled for 2:17 p.m.

Returning seniors, juniors and sophomores will retain their lockers from the previous year.

Incoming freshmen will be assigned lockers in the “A” wing in the upstairs front of the building in the Math hallway.

We are excited to welcome our incoming 9th graders and new students at the annual Freshman/New Student BBQ, scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m. at the high school.

This event will provide an excellent opportunity to familiarize students and parents with our facilities, administration, faculty, and staff.

Detailed information about the Freshman BBQ will be sent out to the Freshmen class as we approach the date.

Starting Friday, Aug. 25, at 3 p.m., student schedules will be accessible through the Parent Portal.

Additionally, the Parent Portal will serve as the platform for reviewing grades at the end of each marking period.

Please remember to periodically check the District’s website, gcsny.org, for essential dates, updates and other information and events.

As we embark on the final leg of summer, I extend my warmest wishes to all families for a memorable and enjoyable time. We look forward to welcoming you back refreshed and energized when the school reopens.

If you have any questions or concerns during the summer, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Enjoy the rest of your summer.

Respectfully,

Nick Pantaleone
