Camp LaGuardia is the biggest zombie property

Editor's note: The following message, dated July 7, was addressed to the Regional Economic Community Action Program (RECAP).

Good morning ladies and gentlemen,
While most people would applaud your efforts to deal with these zombie properties let’s not forget about one of the biggest one in our county today. Camp LaGuardia! This property has been left to decay for entirely too many years now and your program to buy up and rehab zombie properties sounds just like what this place may need? We have and have always had a problem with homes for our hero’s and this place used to shelter up to 1001 men. There are plenty of buildings, there is plenty of space and with $25 million to work with this place could be converted into a very nice apartment complex for not only homeless veterans but our entire county’s homeless. I have attached a sample of some successful transformation from large factories into apartment complexes. I have said on more than one occasion that this was one of the things that could be done with this property, now with your efforts to find and create homes for our homeless veteran’s maybe you could consider this as a viable and acceptable site for your vision?
Thank you.
