Four Goshen alumni and 1997 soccer team to join hall of fame

GOSHEN — Four Goshen High School alumni and the school’s 1997 boys varsity soccer team will be inducted in the Goshen High School Athletic Hall of Fame at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, at C.J. Hooker Middle School in Goshen.
“For many Goshen students, participating in athletics was one of many positive defining moments during their tenure at Goshen High School,” said Matthew O’Brien, the district’s health, physical education and athletics director. “We are convinced their athletic accomplishments contributed to their college and career successes. To be able to honor these alumni and a team for their athletic accomplishments and successes also reinforces to our current students about the power of athletic participation.”
The Athletic Hall of Fame was established to strengthen the bond of its past, present and future athletes. It allows individuals and families to be reconnected with Goshen High School, providing current student-athletes with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the history of the Goshen Gladiators.
Inductees are nominated by community members, staff members, coaches or alumni and selected by the Hall of Fame committee.
