Burke Catholic hosts art auction to benefit track renovations

GOSHEN — If you’ve ever wanted artwork to spruce up your home or office, now is your chance to acquire some — while supporting a worthy cause.
The John S. Burke Catholic High School Parent Club will be hosting an art auction to benefit restoration and refurbishment of the school’s track on Friday, Jan. 27, at the school, located at 80 Fletcher St., Goshen. The Burke Parent Club will be partnering with Marlin Art Gallery to present an assortment of art oils, serigraphs, giclee prints, originals and sports memorabilia.
The art auction preview begins at 6:30 p.m., and the auction will start at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $30 per person or $50 per couple.
During the preview hour will be a wine and spirit tasting (provided by The Old Vine), hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer, soda, coffee, and dessert.
“Our track, pole vault runway, and high jump area are in dire need of renovations to make it as safe as possible for gym classes and track meets,” said Principal Dr. Albert Del Principio. “We are so thankful to Burke Parent Club for organizing the art auction and for the generous supporters who will help us as we strive toward our $275,000 goal to make the renovations a reality.”
