GOSHEN - For the 31st consecutive year, Goshen Intermediate School students participated in Jelly Bean Field Day, a highly anticipated event for students in grades three to five. The annual event promotes fun, fitness and cooperation in a noncompetitive environment, officials said. During the day,, students hit the playground and rotate between different stations where they will participate in a noncompetitive physical fitness challenge. Students earned one jelly bean for each completed challenge, which included jumping rope, hula hooping, kicking a soccer ball, climbing ropes, doing sit-ups and tossing a football. In addition to jelly beans, each student received an apple for their participation, donated by local orchards. The local orchards and businesses who donated to this year’s Jelly Bean Field Day include Roe’s Orchards in Chester, Sleepy Hills Orchards in Johnson, the Warwick Valley Winery, BJ’s Warehouse, ShopRite of Chester and Middletown, Target, Wal-Mart, Price Chopper and Goshen Gulf.
