Goshen graduate is now company president

Goshen — John M. Wood, formerly a partner at Hill-N-Dale Abstracters, Inc., and Goshen Searchers, Inc., is now president of these Goshen-based companies. Hill-N-Dale and Goshen Searchers are two separate entities operating under one administration to provide clients throughout the Mid-Hudson region with title insurance for commercial as well as residential properties. Wood has been with the firm since 1986. He said that, under his leadership, clients can be assured of the same accurate service that has become the companies’ hallmark. He adds, however, that he intends to market the services more aggressively. “While title insurance premiums are controlled by the state and are uniform, there’s nothing uniform about the service various title insurance companies provide,” he said. “We intend to deliver a clear message to our target markets — financial and real estate companies — that the dedication to every detail that we have provided historically will continue to set us apart in the future.” A lifelong resident of the region, Wood is a 1986 graduate of Goshen High School. He lives in Montgomery with his wife, Marlene, and two children, Taylor, 18, and Kyle, 14. Founded in 1959, Hill-N-Dale Abstracters, Inc., and Goshen Searchers, Inc., currently have a staff of 11 permanent employees, with additional employees hired as needed to meet the demands of individual projects. The firms serve hundreds of clients throughout the region.
