A well-attended ribbon cutting marked the opening of a new business in Goshen’s downtown shopping district.

Element Salon & Spa, located at 48 West Main Street, opened its welcoming doors for business on Nov. 5.

“I’ve always wanted to open a salon in Goshen,” said shop owner Dawn Zleng. “Now I have the opportunity to have a business here, and to give the best service to my customers.”

Zleng listed manicures, pedicures, nail enhancement, waxing, facials, foot reflexology, body scrubbing, as well as a private room for men, among the many services now available at this convenient location.

Licensed in cosmetology, nail enhancement, and microbraiding, Zleng’s experience includes working at a salon in Manhattan and as owner of Elite Nail Spa in Florida, N.Y.

“I’m so happy to be in Goshen where we offer a clean, private space for all of our salon work," she said. "Even our nail polish choices are non-toxic."

Former hardware store is completely remodeled

The space, once occupied by a hardware store, is completely remodeled. All aspects — walls, flooring, lighting, and bathroom facilities — are new and updated to perfection with clean lines, creating a calming atmosphere.

“I’m excited for an additional business on Main Street in Goshen,” said resident Rachel Losee, an ambassador with the Goshen Chamber of Commerce.

Having two private rooms — with divider — for facials, waxing, and full body scrubs is a plus for the spa. After a salon or spa treatment, a private shower is available.

Losee noted that the “nail bar” offers social relaxation and comes with a complimentary drink.

“It’s relaxing, social," she said. "Great for moms. Bring a stroller — there aren’t any steps.”

Not having steps also easily accommodates people with handicaps.

“It’s a service for everyone: women naturally, but men also can utilize the services, such as manicures, pedicures, body scrubs, and children are welcomed," Losee said. "Using non-toxic nail polish, moms don’t have to worry about the polish on their children’s nails.”
