Robert Staab
Robert J. Staab Jr. of Campbell Hall, N.Y., died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at home with his two children and Sue Voglio by his side. He was 59.
Son of the late Robert J. Staab Sr. and Marilyn (Bosch) Staab, he was born March 5, 1957, in Richmond Hill, Queens, N.Y.
He was self-driven and hard working with the intent of always being his own boss while owning his own business. As a result, he had two successful construction companies, beginning in Jacksonville, Fla., where he began his family, before moving to New York and starting Patriot Construction, which he ran for many years. This was followed by his current business After the Barn LLC, which he ran and expanded with his son Robby by his side.
He was a man who loved the world and lived life to the fullest. He had that face everyone remembered and was and always will be loved by so many.
He spent his summers out on his boat, Ramble On, in the Great South Bay, and spent his winters in South Florida on the Gulf Coast fishing and visiting friends and family. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Allen Staab; mother, Marilyn Staab; son, Robert J. Staab III; daughter, Jessica Staab; brother, Dr. James A. Staab and partner, Sadia; sister, Maureen Staab; granddaughters, Natalie and Lilly Staab; goddaughter and niece, Theresa Staab; and the family's German Shepherd Gus.
