Norma Lynn Paduch of Wurtsboro, N.Y., died on Friday, May 6, 2016, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Newburgh, New York on March 26, 1951, to Andrew F. and Joyce S. Vesely.
She was a 1969 graduate of Washingtonville High School. After a brief employment at IBM, she went on to a 37-year career as a physical therapy assistant at Valley View Nursing Home in Goshen. She and her husband, Peter, were breeders of champion German wire haired pointers. She was a member of the GWPCA of America, DVGWP Club, and the Sun Coast GWP Club. She enjoyed spending time at her lake house upstate with her dogs, kayaking, and biking.
She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Peter; her son, Beck Whightsil and his fiancee, Lisa Pakenham; granddaughter, Sage Whightsil of Newburgh; step-children, Brian Paduch, Jeffrey Paduch and his daughter, Zoey of Middletown, and Amy Wood and her children, Devin, Logan and Kailyn Wood of Florida, N.Y.; her parents, Andrew and Joyce Vesely of Walden, N.Y.; sisters, Marjorie Drahota and her husband, Roger, of Armstrong, Iowa, and Jackie Hoey of Walden, N.Y; brothers, Richard Vesely and his wife, Patti, of Woodridge, N.Y., and Andrew Vesely Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Maybrook, N.Y.; uncles, Fredrick Vesely of Hartwick, N.Y., Robert Ferris Sr. of New Windsor, N.Y., Ron Starr and his wife, Rosanna, of California and Joel Starr and his wife, Susan, of North Carolina; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Michael and Rose Paduch, Toni and Ed Vanders, Pam and Scott Willoughby, all of Middletown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held May 11 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Middletown, followed by a funeral service. A graveside service was held May 12 at the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Middletown.
