John E. Ewanciw

John E. Ewanciw, a lifetime resident of the Town of Greenville, N.Y., died Monday, July 10, 2017, at home on the farm. He was 95.
Son of the late Peter Ewanciw and the late Josephine E. Costic Ewanciw, he was born Oct. 19, 1921, in Greenville.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Arline A. Hoffritz, who died on Nov. 21, 2004.
He was the owner-operator of White Birch Acres Dairy and Beef Farm in Greenville. He was skillful with his hands also worked at the Ford Plant in Mahwah, N.J., the Minisink Valley School District in Slate Hill, Empire Tube in Huguenot, N.Y., and as a metal fabricator for a tool and die shop in Greenville.
He was a member of the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, South Centerville; a past member of the Greenville Volunteer Fire Department; and a 4-H leader.
A family statement read, "All who met John liked or loved him instantly. He radiated joy. Nobody loved life more than John did. Nobody worked harder than he did. He instilled those values in his children and grandchildren. Born on the family farm in Greenville, he lived the life he wanted and ended his journey there, at home.
Survivors include his son, John H. Ewanciw, and his wife, Sherry, of Cincinattus, N.Y.; daughters, Mary Jo Wagner and her husband, Darryl, of Greenville, Elizabeth Manning and her husband, David, of Goshen, N.Y., Susan Ewanciw of Bullville, N.Y., Lorraine Brink and her husband, Joe, of Greenville, and Dolores Degnan and her husband, Andy, of Greenville; grandchildren, Joseph Wagner and wife, Beth, John Ewanciw and wife, Joanne, Sarah Magee and husband, Chris, Jerez Ewanciw, Jonathan Tracy and wife, Kari, Maryellen Gaylor, Joseph Brink, Matthew Brink, Abigail Brink, Nick Degnan and wife, Tara, Jessica LiVigni and husband, Joe, Rebecca Presto and husband, Charley, Shannon Hughson and husband, Jack, and Nate Degnan; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Darryl, Madelyn, Maddox, Micha, Ella, Evey, Maximus, Thomas, Lucas, Daniel, Justin, Juliana, Haven, Chase, Norah, Magdalena and Sebastian; sister-in-law, Barbara Ewanciw of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughters Audrey and Arline Ewanciw; brothers Michael and Paul Ewanciw; and sisters Tillie Swanerbury and Helen Ewanciw.
Visitation was held at Gray-Parker Funeral Home in Port Jervis, N.Y., on July 14. A blessing service was held July 15 in Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis, with the Rev. Michael Cedro officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis.
