Eugene P. Grimmig passed away on July 17, 2023, at his residence in Chester. He was 55 years old.
The son of Eugene and Marie (McCann) Grimmig, he was born on Jan. 1, 1968, in New York City.
Eugene worked for the New York State Thruway Authority in Newburgh. He was a life member of the Tuxedo Ambulance Corps. and a member of the Fire Police for Chester Fire Department.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife Charlene Grimmig of Chester; siblings: Charles Grimmig and his wife Jennifer of Portland, Tenn.; Mary Grimmig of Peru, Vt.; and Catherine Burgos and her husband, Dwight of New Milford, N.J.; and his beloved dog Maggie.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 21, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, at St. Columba Church, Chester.
Interment will take place at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont.
