Daniel F. Dreyer
Daniel F. Dreyer of Chester, N.Y., a retired bus driver for Coach USA, died Friday, July 6, 2018, at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, N.Y. He was 74.
Son of the late Alice and Herman Dreyer, he was born in 1943 in the Bronx, N.Y.
Daniel was a Chester resident for the past 51 years.
He was a longtime active parishioner of St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, belonged to the Chester Golden Age Club, was a former volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program, and Scout Leader of Cub Scout 41 and Troop 152 in Chester.
Daniel was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who put his family above all else. He enjoyed salt-water fishing and “cruising” with his wife. He was an honorable man who had the utmost respect for his country and the men and women of the United States Armed Services.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Dreyer; children, James Dreyer (Carol) of Walker Valley, N.Y., Lynda McKeon (Anthony) of New Hampton, N.Y., Daniel Dreyer (Mary Beth) of Hamburg, N.Y., and Nancy Green (Kevin) of Chester; and 11 grandchildren Allyson, Daniel and Jillian Dreyer; Katelyn, Michael and Elizabeth McKeon, Joseph, Emily and David Dreyer, and Kenneth and Lillian Green.
He was predeceased by his sister Irene Butnarescu and brother James Dreyer.
Visitation will take place during the hours of 2 and 4 p.m. and 6 and 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, at Flynn Funeral Home and Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Rd., Monroe. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, 27 High St., Chester.
