Christopher Wayne Dietz of Cornwall, formerly of Florida, N.Y., owner of Dietz Plumbing, Heating & Home Improvements, passed away after a tough battle with COVID-19 on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021. He was 39.

The son of Wayne Dietz and Elizabeth McLaughlin Dietz, he was born on Oct. 23, 1982, in Warwick.

He was a former active member of the Florida Fire Department & Rescue Squad and a past chief of the Cornwall Ambulance Corps.

Chris loved not only his family and friends but truly loved his passion for his work. He took pride in every challenge of his trade and when the opportunity came, he quickly acted without hesitation to help out a family in need by volunteering his skills on the TV show, Extreme Home Makeover.

He is survived by his parents Wayne and Liz Dietz; brother Matthew Dietz; sister and brother-in-law Jennifer Middaugh and husband Kyle; his niece Gabriella; Uncle and Aunt Gary and Marjory Dietz; along with countless friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 10, from 3 to 7 p.m. at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Ave., Florida.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at St. Joseph Church, 20 Glenmere Ave., Florida.

Burial will be held in Warwick Cemetery.

Due to current COVID 19 pandemic, the family has requested that all those in attendance at the funeral home and church to please wear a mask while indoors.
