Warwick Valley Chorale performs holiday concerts in Goshen Warwick this weekend

Catch the Warwick Valley Chorale this weekend for its 2019 holiday concerts.

This 90-voice chorale is performing its 79th annual winter concerts on Friday, Dec. 13, at the Goshen United Methodist Church, and Sunday afternoon at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church.

The chorale is led by conductor Stanley Curtis and accompanied by Gail Johnson. The highlight is the performance of a cantata,

A Christmas Celebration, an eight-movement work combining narration and singing with text taken from the Bible and poetry from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Also featured on the program will be arrangements of four Christmas gospels, a twelve-selection medley of seasonal favorites and traditional carols.

The Friday, Dec. 13, performance, is at Goshen United Methodist Church, 115 Main St., in Goshen, at 7 p.m. Sunday afternoon, the chorale performs at St. Stephen Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, in Warwick starting at 4 p.m.

Admission is free for all performances; donations are accepted.
