The Orange County Senior Games is in its 36th year, making it one of the longest running events of its kind in the country. The activities included the recent bocce/shuffleboard tournament at Glen Arden in Goshen.

The final final events will be held Oct. 31 with a movie at Downing Film Center in the City of Newburgh and a bowling tournament at Tarsio Lanes in the Town of Newburgh.

Tom Quinlisk, the supervisor of the Orange County Parks Department as well as the chairman of the Orange County Senior Games, said the county also brings the games to a few nursery homes.

"When all is said and done," Quinlisk said, "done we’ll have about 525 participants in the Senior Games this year."
