Safe Harbors of the Hudson, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives and building community through housing and the arts, will celebrate its inaugural season of its storytelling series StoryCON with a special All-Star finale on July 26 at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

The event will feature past StoryCON winners Jonathan Hamilt, Kyle Vincent Terry, Pam Morrill, Giselle Martinez, Valerie Lynn Brett, Niki Thompson, and Darlene Costello battling it out for a $500 cash prize and the distinction of being the inaugural season winner. Admission to the event is free.

Launched in January 2025, Safe Harbors’ StoryCON has taken place every last Saturday of the month from the Hudson Valley to share personal stories with an audience. Each monthly StoryCON is organized around a theme. Past themes have included “My Journey,” “Mom’s the Word,” and “Out and Proud” for a Pride month in June.

Each StoryCON is also hosted by a different professional storyteller, who leads a daytime workshop to help participants shape and rehearse their stories for performance that night.

Over its first season, StoryCON has featured 46 participating storytellers, and has drawn a growing number of new and returning audience members each month. StoryCON will return in 2026, with a schedule of dates still to be announced. Those interested in participating as storytellers or hosts should email kmartinez@safe-harbors.org.
