Acclaimed saxophonist Joe Lovano will be the guest artist at this year’s Hudson Valley Jazz Festival, performing with The Analog Jazz Orchestra at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13, at The Falcon in Marlboro.
The Analog Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of saxophonist Geoff Vidal, is a 17-piece ensemble comprised mostly of active-duty servicemen of the West Point Band and former members of the West Point Jazz Knights. The band performs classic big band repertoire from groups such as Count Basie and Thad Jones in addition to performing original compositions and arrangements by the members of the group.
The festival opens Wednesday, Aug. 9, at The Cove in Greenwood Lake and there will be shows through Sunday, Aug 13.
