Chester: Library programs for adults coming this summer

Throughout the summer, stop by the Chester Public Library to enter the “Read and Rate Your Summer Reads” drawing. Every time you read a book or an article this summer, submit the title for a chance to win a summer themed prize in August. Anyone 18 and older is eligible.

Saturday, June 26, at 11 a.m.

Pastel Art Series with Artist Shawn Dell Joyce: Class 2 - Pastel Still Life: Learn to create different effects using pastels. We will be making four variations of a photo of an Egret. Some supplies are available while they last, call the library for details: 845-469-4252. Registration required; a Zoom link will be sent before the program.

Drumming with Margaret Johnson: Join us for a drum circle event! You can bring your own drums or use the ones provided.

Beading at the Library: We have a collection of beading materials and tools for making jewelry or decorative piece. Stop by for this open session and create something unique.

Saturday, Aug. 7, at 2 p.m.

Nature Journal Workshop with James Van Gelder: An illustrated nature journal is a way to combine writing and images as you record the natural world in a unique way. This program is geared for all levels, some supplies are available at the library.

Monday, Aug. 9, at 6:30 pm.

Book Group: We will be discussing two short books this month, ‘Grayson’ by Lynne Cox and ‘Flush’ by Virginia Woolf.
