William A. Schmid Sr. of New Hampton, a lifelong area produce farmer, entered into rest on Saturday, July 08, 2023 at home, surrounded by his family. He was 74.
The son of John Schmid Jr. and Virginia “Veronica” Anderson Schmid, he was born on Sept. 12, 1948, in Middletown.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marsha Morgan Schmid, at home; daughter Andrea Ogorzaly (Eddie) of Port Jervis; son William A. Schmid Jr. (Kim) of New Hampton; five grandchildren,: Killian, Zoey, Jacob, Emma and Andrew; brother John Schmid (Kathleen) Goshen; sister Susan Eckerson (John Sr.) of New Hampton; grand-dog, Shadow; along with several nieces and nephews.
As per his wishes, there will be no services and cremation will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
