Ronald Roy Lief of Goshen, N.Y., dies at age 86

Ronald Roy Lief of Goshen, N.Y., passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019, at Orange Regional Medical Center in Wallkill, N.Y. He was 86.

Son of the late Roy and Clara Johnson Lief, he was born on Feb. 13, 1933, in Superior, Wisconson. He was vice president and director of Production at G.P. Putnum Sons in Manhattan. He was an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by the son in his heart, Matt Testoni. He was Matt’s best friend and a wonderful father figure to him. He is also survived by many dear friends. Ronald was an avid animal lover and reader. He enjoyed Shakespearean sonnets and writing in his personal journals as often as possible. He also loved classic movies and film scores. Ronald will be dearly missed by all.

Cremation was in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, N.Y. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Rd., Goshen. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ronald’s name to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 Southeast First Street, Miami, FL 33131. Arrangements were made by Gridley-Horan Funeral Home.
