Kathleen Rattigan of Chester, N.Y., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020.

Daughter of the late Andrew and Florence, Kathleen was born in New York. She was a medical secretary for many years, and then later a caretaker of children and the elderly.

Her family statement reads “Kathleen will be forever remembered by her loving husband, two daughters, four grandchildren, her nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws and friends. Kathy’s happiness in life came from her family, friends and pets. Her four grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life. Kathy was fiercely loyal to and protective of those she loved. She had a contagious laugh that drew people in and we will always remember. Kathy deeply loved animals, having them throughout her life as well as rescuing many."

Survivors include her husband, James Rattigan; their daughters, Debbie and Denise; grandchildren, Jack, Owen, Keira and Caitlyn; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Kathy was the youngest of seven siblings, Debbie, Robert, Louise, William, Jack and Dennis, who all predeceased her.

Visitation was held Feb. 25 at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers in Monroe. A Funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 25 St. Columba Roman Catholic Church in Chester.

Kathleen’s family has asked, if anyone should so desire, that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kathleen’s name may be made to the Warwick Humane Society at P.O. Box 61 Warwick, NY 10990.
