Joyce Adair Tremper O’Dowd

    Joyce Adair Tremper O’Dow of Goshen and formerly of Palisades entered Heaven on Monday, April 26, 2021. She was 87 years old.

    She was the daughter of Verna Conklin Tremper and Edwin Tremper of Tappan.

    Joyce was for many years a member of the administrative staff at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University.

    She was a member of the Merriewold Club of Forestburg and Westminster Presbyterian Church of New Windsor.

    She is survived by her daughter Cynthia O’Dowd Gough and her husband Christopher Gough of Colorado and her grandchildren Alex and Kyle Gough and Kyle’s wife Danielle. Other survivors include her sister-in-law Marilyn Tremper, her niece Kathleen Goodyear and her husband Chris Goodyear, as well as other nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband Richard Van Duzer Wallace of Goshen and her stepchildren Jon, David and Elisabeth Wallace and Jon’s wife Christine.

    She was predeceased by her husband Edwyn “Skip“ O’Dowd, her brother Donald “Mickey“ Tremper and her nephew Michael Tremper.

    There will be no visitation. A memorial service is being planned for later in the year.

    Contributions can be made in Joyce’s memory to the Forestburg Fire Department, United Hospice of Rockland (Joe Raso Center) and The Westminster Church (Rock Tavern).
