Gertrude (Crosbie) (Higgins) Hunter of Central Valley entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 27, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was 89 years old.

The daughter of James Leo Crosbie and Isabelle Marie (Campbell) Crosbie, Gertrude was born on April 19, 1931, in Nyack.

Gertrude was a retired Director of Housekeeping for the Tropicana in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Fondly known as Gerri, our beautiful Mother was wise, loving and so devoted to her faith. She was a Eucharistic Minister and involved in her prayer groups. She prayed the rosary daily.

Mom will be missed but never out of our hearts and her memories will always keep us smiling.

Gertrude is survived by her husband Alexander Hunter; her children: Ellen Carroll, predeceased James Higgins, Maryanne and Thomas Coppinger, Jane and Robert Bodo, Patrick and Diane Higgins, Elizabeth and Michael Sanator, Kathleen and Stanley Wong, Thomas and Vivian Higgins, predeceased baby Mary Higgins and Tara and Gary Wescott. She was beloved by her 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Gertrude is also survived by her sisters Jane Hylas of Stony Point and Nan Fabio of Pearl River; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved.

Visitation was held April 1 at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson.

A Mass of Christian Burial followed the visitation at the Church of St. Patrick, 445 Route 32, Highland Mills.
