Francis (Frank) S. Dolan, 80 of Hewitt, N.J,. passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, in Warwick, N.Y.
Born on Oct. 2, 1939, in New York City, he was the son of Francis and Marguerite Dolan.
He married his huckleberry friend, the love of his life, Margaret (Peggy) Hines on Aug. 26, 1962, celebrating 58 years of marriage. They were blessed with four children.
Frank was a longshoreman working at Portwide Cargo Securing Company, Inc. at the Port of Newark. He was an active member of the International Longshoreman’s Association (ILA) Union for 45 years.
Frank found joy in the skies as a private pilot, advancing his achievement to an IFR certification. He resided in Lakeside Community since 1967 and landed his Cessna on an ice-covered Greenwood Lake and took several of the neighborhood kids for a ride in the “wild blue yonder.”
In his later years he enjoyed sailing on the Panasea, in the British Virgin Islands, counting the days until he could go back again.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Kiki, brother Kenneth Dolan, sister Margo Dolan and his first-born son James Dolan.
Frank is survived by his wife Peggy, eldest daughter Janice Palmer (Shane), his son Jeff Dolan (Linda) and youngest daughter Jeannie Morrison (fiancé Nick Kontos); brother James Dolan (Ronnie), brother-in-law Owen Hines (Maureen), nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren and seven great grandsons.

A celebration of life will be held over the summer.
