Brian K. Black entered into eternal rest on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, at his home in Highland Mills after a courageous, lifelong battle with heart disease. He was 58 years old.

The son of Richard Black and Marie Cayot, he was born on July 2, 1962, in Suffern.

Brian was a retired pharmaceutical operator for Pfizer in Pearl River.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking and swimming.

Brian will be missed immensely and will always be remembered for his charming and giving spirit, witty sense of humor and deep love for his family.

Brian is survived by his loving wife Kristen Black at home in Highland Mills; his father Richard Black of Bethpage; and his three sons: Keith Black of Washingtonville; Kurtis McKnight and Kyle McKnight, both of Highland Mills. Also surviving are his brothers: Richard Black Jr. of Blauvelt, Jeffrey Black and his wife Teri of Bethpage, and Charles Black of Kerhonkson; in addition to his sister Cindy Sliskovic and her husband Bob of Saline, Michigan; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be private.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 12 at St. Patrick’s Church, Highland Mills.

Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

A memorial dedication and hike are being planned for June 2021 at Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, 120 Muser Drive in Cornwall.
