Beverly X. Carey

Beverly X. Carey of Highland Mills passed away on July 20, 2023, at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. She was 87 years old.

Daughter of Ramon and Margaret (Farrell) Xiques, she was born on Oct. 25, 1934, in New Rochelle.

Beverly was the Store Manager for Rosenbaum’s Jewelry Store in Central Valley. She attended St. Gabrielle’s High School in New Rochelle and she worked in advertising in New York City before devoting herself to raising her eight children.

She was also a hands-on grandmother to 19 grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

Beverly was a Eucharistic Minister and proud member of St. Patrick’s Church and St. Patrick’s Play Group in Highland Mills. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and she also worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Michael Carey of Highland Mills; Raymond Carey and his wife Cheryl of Newburgh; Brett Carey and his wife Elizabeth of Chester; Brian Carey and his wife, Paulette of Owego; Matthew Carey and his wife Katherine of Circleville; Noell Bushey and her husband Michael of Salisbury Mills; Margaret “Peggy” Carey of Highland Mills; and Leigh-Ann Incledon and her husband Paul of Highland Mills; sister Barbara Zambelli of Florida; grandchildren: Brittany (Brian) Morgan, Nicholas Carey, Samantha Carey, Michael Carey, Tara (Nicholas) Molino, Erin Donnelly, Patrick Donnelly, Brendan Donnelly, Claire Donnelly, Catherine Incledon, Grace Incledon, James Incledon, Mariah Inclendon, Zachary Incledon, Raymond Bushey, Megan Bushey, Colin Carey, Gavin Carey and Devin Carey; and by her great grandchild, Callan Morgan.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was also predeceased by her loving Joseph P. Carey and her sister Marilyn Kiskadden.

Visitation was held July 25 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush Funeral Home, 515 Route 32, Highland Mills. A Funeral Mass was celebrated July 26 at St. Patrick’s Church, 26 Hunter St., Highland Mills. Interment followed at Cemetery of The Highlands.
