Alice Daniel

Alice Daniel of Warwick peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020, at home after a brief illness with her family by her side. She was 85 years old.

Born in Pittston, Pa., on July 5, 1934, she was the daughter of Frances (Burkmonus) and Michael Semonella.

Alice had the best of both worlds as she spent some time in rural Pennsylvania, but was raised in Manhattan, where she worked at the NYC Telephone Company and a NYC bank as a teller.

Sometime later, she met the love of her life and was married and later they moved to Warwick, where they raised their family. Alice was a stay-at-home mom for her four children, and later went on to work at the Jiffy Stop in Warwick for many years.

She was definitely the #1 Yankee fan, as she spent days and nights sitting in Yankee Stadium with her mother and sister watching the games.

She was an amazing cook, and never needed to measure a thing. Anything she threw together made for an amazing meal. She loved family gatherings, whether it was a birthday party, a barbecue, or a holiday; she enjoyed being in the company of her loved ones.

She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her precious kitty Jack-Jack.

Her family's statement reads: “Mom was a wonderful person who always made you feel so loved. She lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; all of whom will miss her dearly.”

Special thanks to Dr. S. Wang for all his love and support. We thank him tremendously.

She is survived by her daughters Carole Redner and her husband Paul of Warwick and Joanne Bailey and her husband Raymond of Florida, N.Y.; son Michael Daniel of Warwick; grandchildren: Paul, Jason (Cori), Joseph (Caitlin) and Kenny Redner; Raymond (Rebecca), Rachael (Tyler Beach), Anthony, Nicholas and Theresa Bailey; Zachary and Hannah Daniel; eight great-grandchildren: Tyler, Rylee, Kameron, Jamie, Elsa, Raymond III, Brielle and Tyler Jr.

She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Clifford Daniel, in 2011, daughter Laura J. Knibbs in 2010, and her sister Rosemary Paolini in 1977.

Alice loved flowers and roses were her favorite. Maybe instead of sending flowers, give a rose to someone you love, or buy some for yourself and place them on your kitchen table in her memory, as she always loved to have flowers on her table.

Please make memorial donations to the Warwick Community Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 315, Warwick, NY 10990 or The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28201.

Due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, private burial arrangements were made. However, a celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date.
