Vanderbilt University researchers found that eating yogurt and fiber, both probiotic foods, may lower the risk for lung cancer, even in smokers. Study participants who ate the most fiber had a 17 percent lower risk of lung cancer than those who ate the least. Those who ate from three to four ounces of yogurt a day were 19 percent less likely to develop lung cancer than those who ate none.
