Beautiful People, Orange County’s largest adaptive youth sports league, will hold its third annual Fall Fun Walk, Run and Roll at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7 at Wickham Woodlands Park in the Town of Warwick.
The event, open to competitive runners as well as walkers of all ages, brings together Beautiful People’s families, supporters and young athletes for a day of community and competition.
The race will be professionally timed, but casual joggers and walkers are welcome to participate at their own pace. In addition to the live event, competitors may once again walk or run virtually, at their homes or anywhere they choose.
Beautiful People is a community sports organization and 501(c)3 nonprofit, founded by Peter Ladka in 2006.
The organization provides adaptive baseball, soccer, basketball and cheerleading for children and young adults with developmental disabilities and physical challenges, ages five and older. The purpose is to enables joy, inspires hope and fulfills dreams among those with disabilities and their families.
The event is once again co-hosted by Hudson Sports Complex.
Sponsors include: Alan Turken & Bill Garcia Allstate, The Disability Opportunity Fund, Nexxt Enterprises, the Zweig Family, Rifton and other organizations from across Orange County.
Last year’s event generated Beautiful People’s highest fund-raising total, and had more competition than ever before, with approximately 100 in-person participants and 40 virtual racers
