The Goshen Village Board has voted to bar marijuana establishments in the community.

Trustees voted 3-1 on Aug. 23 to opt out of a state law that authorizes licensed cannabis dispensaries and/or consumption sites.

Supporting the local opt-out law were Mayor Peter Smith and trustees Anthony Scotto and Daniel Henderson.

Scott Wohl voted no while Daniel Henderson was absent.

Goshen’s local law is subject to a permissive referendum.
