As a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, it is with pride that I salute and thank Assemblyman Colin Schmitt for his service to our district and our state.

Assemblyman Schmitt not only serves us in the State Assembly but also as a member of the Army National Guard.

He is a tested leader, one who has put others first both in uniform and on the Assembly floor.

I personally know Colin and countless veterans and veterans organizations he has assisted.

When veterans mental health funding was cut in the state budget, Colin fought successfully to have it restored.

When politics was played to block the widows and children of fallen heroes from receiving college education benefits, Colin worked to make the benefit permanent.

When local veterans and military widows are denied the assistance they have earned, Colin is the one who we turn to to cut through red tapeand help them.

Colin Schmitt is there for veterans and all in our community because he is one of us.

Thank you, Assemblyman Colin Schmitt, for your leadership and service to your state and country.

    Sincerely,

    Jim Kline
