Doug Bloomfield is running for a seat on the Goshen Town Board

I have decided not to run for a ninth term as Goshen Town Supervisor.

Instead, I would like to continue working alongside the new Town Supervisor and the Town Board as a Councilperson, building on the foundation that was laid in making Goshen a wonderful place to live and work.

I am, however, running for the position of Goshen Town Councilman. I have the experience, desire and ability to serve and support Town Government.

I have a lifetime of experience: I graduated from Goshen High School, earned a college degree in science, served our country in combat as Company Commander in Vietnam and held several leadership and technical positions in a large corporation.

My experience has paid off significantly for the town. Under my leadership the Town stopped borrowing money, paid off debt created by others before me and implemented several successful cost reduction ideas.

As a result, the Town has reduced taxes eight of the last nine years and taxes to be paid in 2022 will be lower than taxes paid in 2013.

Lastly, a major program to fund rebuilding of town roads was initiated. In the last five years we increased spending 500 percent over previous years and paid cash for all work undertaken. Town roads are in the best condition they have been in for over a decade.

I ask for your vote on Election Day, November 2nd. You will be rewarded with continued excellent performance from me, the new Supervisor and the Town Board.

    Doug Bloomfield
