Smokin' hot and tricked out in Port Jervis

A wide range of vehicles, old and new, were admired by a steady stream of onlookers at the CruzinPort cruise night held at Airport Park in Matamoras, Pa., on July 2.
CruzinPort is the brainchild of Harold Butler, proud owner and restorer of a 1970 Corvette, and his wife, Sheri Butler. They wanted to give visitors another reason to visit Port Jervis and shop at local businesses.
"What if street rods, hot rods, custom cars, custom trucks and motorcycles were allowed to cruise up and down the strip like we used to?" they asked, with a DJ set up to play tunes in the middle of the street?
In 2009 the tradition was born, with support from the city of Port Jervis and local businesses sponsoring trophies.
CruzinPort is held from 5 to 9 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month from May through September. The next cruises will be held Aug. 6 (rain date Aug. 13) and Sept. 3 (rain date Sept. 10).
