Grand Circuit Harness Racing kicks off on July 4 with the County Fair Races, highlighted by plenty of local talent.
July 5 is Landmark Stakes Day, while July 6 brings New York Sires Stakes & Excelsior Pace Day and the Billings Trot.
But the big day will be Sunday, July 7, Hall of Fame Day, when active Hall of Famers drive in a one-mile dash. As always, the thrilling Grand Circuit series spans part of Goshen’s Great American Weekend, which will take place on July 6 and 7. The annual celebration will be in its 38th year with activities for everyone. The nearby Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame will be also open with free admission.
If you've had the pleasure of attending the Track’s recent First Responders Day and Seniors Day matinee races, you know there is always a lot of family fun at the world’s oldest active harness racing track. "Face painting by Paris" will be back by popular demand on July 4.
If you are one to take chances, OTB will also be available right next door at Delancey’s Bar and Restaurant.
Races at Goshen Historic Track are always a bargain: admission is $5, with children 12 and under admitted free. Classic summertime refreshments will be available at the Track Snack Bar.
The Track is located at 44 Park Place in Goshen. For more information visit goshenhistorictrack.com for details.
