Goshen. School District offer 20 Universal Pre-K seats in 2021-22

The New York State Education Department has notified the Goshen School District that funding was included in the 2021-22 budget to support Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) in in the district.

The district will offer 20 UPK seats for the 2021-22 school year.

The district will partner with On My Way Early Learning & Childcare Center located at 12 Riverside Drive in Middletown. The program will run five days a week and will be a full-day program, operating from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Parents are responsible for transportation. There will be no cost for families, as this program is fully funded by the grant.

To be eligible, you must be a current resident of the Goshen School District and your child must turn age four on or before Dec. 1, 2021. Eligible students will be selected to participate via lottery.

Interested parents need to complete the pre-registration form by 3 p.m. Aug. 20. The purpose of this pre-registration process is to indicate your interest in the program and to ensure that your child is included in the lottery that will take place on Monday, Aug. 23, for the available seats. Following the lottery, parents will be notified of their child’s acceptance and provided with an official enrollment packet.

The pre-registration form can be found on the district website www.gcsny.org. Paper versions of the pre-registration are also available at the district office located at 227 Main St. Once completed, they should be placed in the designated drop box provided.
