The community is invited to the grand opening of the new athletic facilities and addition at Goshen High School on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The event, which begins at noon, will showcase the school district’s $30.48 million capital project, which voters approved in February 2017. Construction began last summer.

The project's main goals were to get the school district up-to-date with learning technology, strengthen safety and security infrastructure, modernize the performing arts program and auditorium, and upgrade the athletic facilities at the high school.

The school's new multi-purpose artificial turf field includes an eight-lane track, digital scoreboard, 1,500-seat bleachers, and a field house with locker rooms, training room, storage rooms, bathrooms, and concession stand.

The high school has a new main entranceway and 15,000-square-foot addition, including new classrooms, administrative offices, and security vestibule.

A second grand opening will be held later in the fall for the high school’s newly renovated STEAM lab and suite, music department, auditorium, and cafeteria/kitchen.

Schedule:
12 p.m. — Open walk-throughs of the new athletic facilities, high school main entranceway, and 15,000-square foot addition.
3 p.m. — Ribbon-cutting ceremony with live music and special guest speakers.
4 p.m. — Gladiator Nation tailgate and celebration complete with deejay, inflatables, and catering provided by Catherine’s Restaurant.
