In honor and remembrance of 9/11, the law firm Jacobowitz and Gubits is offering a free simple will to active first responders who live in Orange, Sullivan or Ulster counties.

“We understand how important first responders are to our community,” said Managing Partner Michele Babcock. “They continue to risk their lives for our safety every day. This is our way of showing our appreciation while helping them take care of their family. This will be our fourth consecutive year of honoring our area first responders with this service.”

Many people are surprised to learn that New York probate court judges are under no legal obligation to assign assets to a surviving spouse in the event that the deceased left no will. Having a legal will in place is the only way to ensure that a person’s assets and final wishes will be granted upon their death.

First responders interested in having J&G prepare a simple will can contact the office by phone at (845) 778-2121 or through the website at www.jacobowitz.com. The offer is good throughout September.

The firm has offices in Walden and Monticello.
