Julia Phillips, National Book Award finalist, to speak at Goshen Library

The Goshen Public Library will host author Julia Phillips, who will discuss her debut novel, "Disappearing Earth," at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, at the library, 366 Main St., Goshen.

This national bestseller is a finalist for the National Book Award and the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, and a nominee for the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction. It is currently being published in 15 countries.

"Disappearing Earth" has been called one of the best books of 2019 by Vanity Fair, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, Esquire, Town & Country, and other publications. Described as a “nearly flawless novel” by The New York Times, it has been garnering rave reviews for its beautifully written and suspenseful story of two young girls who go missing in a remote province of Russia.

A Fulbright fellow, Phillips has written for The New York Times, The Atlantic, and The Paris Review. She currently lives in Brooklyn.
