Accident kills worker at psychiatric center

— The New York State Police in Monroe are investigating a fatal accident that occurred on the grounds of the Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center in the Town of Goshen.

On June 18, George Grumbach, 55, of Chester, a maintenance worker at the facility, was planting trees along the main entrance at the time of the accident, accofding to the police report. Grumbach parked a Ford dump truck near a tree that was just unloaded. When he exited the vehicle, the dump truck rolled backward, pinning Grunbach underneath the front driver side tire. Co-workers freed Grumbach from the truck and transported him to Orange Regional Medical Center, were he later died from his injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
