World's biggest anti-bullying festival coming to Chester
Celebrity performers and motivational speakers to raise awareness during three-day 'Pledge Anti-Bully' fest
CHESTER — "Pledge Anti-Bully," which is being touted as "the world's biggest anti-bullying music festival," is coming to the Castle Fun Center in Chester next month.The weekend of July 11-13 will bring thousands of students and families to Chester for a festival that will not only entertain but raise awareness about bullying. Celebrities from TV shows like American Idol, The X-Factor, America's Got Talent and The Voice will hit the stages from noon to 9 p.m. each day. Motivational speakers, life coaches, and positive role models will also participate all three days, with each day having a different theme:Friday: 'Redefining Beauty'
Friday is for teenaged girls and their mothers who will spend the day taking "selfies" and displaying their willingness to embrace their inner beauty and not be influenced by what the major magazines and television shows depict as "beautiful."Saturday: 'YouChoose'
The day showcases YouTube personalities (YouTubers) chosen by the fans, a mix of singer/songwriters and fashion enthusiasts. Pop music bands, dance music DJs will perform throughout the day.Sunday: 'Era 2 Era'
The day will be dedicated to adults, featuring music from the 1980s to the present. Parents and teachers are invited to participate. "Re-introducing music and popular culture from those years will allow adults to remember the growing pains and what it was like for each of them as grade school students," says publicity for the event."Pledge Anti-Bully shows that there is strength in numbers," the statement continues. "It also gives an opportunity for school officials to attend and discuss the effectiveness of their anti-bullying programs. It can be utilized by other schools that endeavor to try different preventative approaches. The weekend helps to boost the morale of grade school students by bringing them together with other like-minded peer members. Pledge Anti-Bully opens the doors for open dialogues between families, teachers, counselors, and most importantly, it provides a fun, safe and appropriate environment for everyone in attendance."The event is being produced by JNFE Public Relations and Advertising Agency and sponsored by State Farm. The Castle Fun Center is located at 109 Brookside Ave. in Chester.Pledge tickets begin at $30 for a one-day wristband, with additional costs for multi-day options.
