COLD SPRING, N.Y. — There's a new online mobile tour available for the West Point Foundry Preserve along the Hudson River.

The conservation group Scenic Hudson says the online tour allows visitors exploring the site in Cold Spring to experience the sights and sounds of the 19th-century ironworks.

The West Point Foundry is just north and across the river from the U.S. Military Academy. The foundry made steam engines, locomotives and weaponry. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The tour is available through www.foundrytour.org. Visitors can access the tour on their smartphones or at home on their web browsers.
