Tower Trio to perform at First Presbyterian

By Geri Corey
Goshen — Orange County is fortunate to have three professional classical musicians in the area. All are experienced and have performed throughout the United States and abroad. Now, they’ll perform for us here in Goshen.
A concert featuring the Tower Trio is planned for Sunday, March 18, at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church of Goshen, 33 Park Place.
Jonathan Hall, keyboards; Mary Lee Farris, vocalist; and Bill Powers, woodwinds, comprise the Tower Trio. Accomplished musician Hall will perform on the historic church organ, grand piano, as well as the harpsichord. Saxophonist Powers will also treat the public to inspiring flute versions, and Farris will offer outstanding vocal renditions.
Music will be a broad range of styles and varied instrumentation, with the program including works by Bach, Purcell, Barber, Halley and others.
Also featured are works by Donald Marsh, a composer and longtime resident of Port Jervis.
“Come and enjoy the experience of music in a dynamic and lovely way,” Hall said.
The program will be performed on the church’s historic 1931 Austin organ, which is in the early stages of a planned restoration.
The concert is free and open to the public. A donation is welcome. The concert will be followed by a simple reception.
