Goshen man seriously injured in fall from scaffolding

Cornelius Matthew Zabriskie, 78, of Goshen was seriously injured after a fall from scaffolding, according to the Wallkill Police Department. At 9:20 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, police officers responded to a request for emergency medical services at 1 Inwood Drive in Wallkill. The officers found Zabriskie injured on the floor. Zabriskie was transported to Orange Regional Medical Center by the Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps, according to the police. The police department's preliminary investigation found that Zabriskie was building a concrete stairwell at the time of his fall. Wallkill detectives are continuing their investigation into the accident with the assistance of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
